Levada Vale Paraíso Nature & Tradition

Upon arrival at the port of Porto do Funchal, our guide will be waiting for you with an identification sign to begin an experience designed to connect with the natural and traditional essence of Madeira.

We will start by ascending to the Cristo Rei do Garajau viewpoint, one of the most impressive panoramic spots on the island. From there, we will enjoy privileged views over the Atlantic Ocean and Funchal Bay — a spectacular start to immerse ourselves in the Madeiran landscape.

Next, we will head to the Levada Vale Paraíso: an accessible and peaceful trail, perfect for delving into the island’s lush vegetation, breathing fresh air, and feeling the calm that characterizes Madeira’s traditional levadas. The walk along the levada lasts approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.

 The levadas are Madeira’s traditional irrigation channels, accompanied by paths that allow you to explore the island amidst lush nature and unique landscapes.

On the way back to Funchal, we will make a stop in Funchal’s Old Town, where a family-run establishment will welcome us for a tasting of typical sweets accompanied by a handcrafted poncha — a delicious way to get to know the local tradition.

The route culminates with a guided walk through Funchal’s historic center, full of history, urban art, and local charm. An ideal tour for those who wish to experience Madeira with all five senses: nature, tradition, culture, flavor, and scenery.
