Our guide will meet you by the ship, holding a Shore2Shore sign, to welcome you to this fascinating tour of Bergen.
From there, in just twenty minutes by bus, we will arrive at the impressive Fantoft Stave Church for an exterior visit of this marvel. This medieval "stavkirke" was relocated from Sogn at the end of the 19th century and, after a devastating fire in 1992, was rebuilt in all its original splendor.
Here, among forests and mountains, you will discover one of Norway’s oldest architectural gems, with its carved posts and serene atmosphere that seems to transport you to another era.
On the way back, we will begin a panoramic bus tour through the heart of Bergen. We will pass by the picturesque Lille Lungegårdsvann Lake, surrounded by green areas, the elegant Festplassen Square, a central hub of the city’s cultural life. We will continue through the Torgallmenningen area, full of shops, cafés, and street performers, until we reach the vibrant fish market.
The tour continues to the Hanseatic Wharf of Bryggen, a collection of colorful wooden houses declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, which will make you feel as if you have stepped back in time to the era of medieval Hanseatic merchants. In this historic neighborhood, we will make a brief stop where you can enjoy views from the nearby Bergenhus Fortress and the city’s fjord.
After a stop of about thirty minutes in the center, next to Bryggen, the bus will take us back to the port, where this tour combining history, culture, and the best views of Bergen will conclude. Also, those who prefer may stay here to enjoy the place, its atmosphere, what the city offers, and return to the port on their own.

- This excursion is not recommended for people with reduced mobility, those who require the use of a wheelchair, or those traveling with baby strollers, due to uneven terrain.
- The bus cannot reach the church: you must walk about 300 meters along a forest path, with some uphill. This is a medium-level activity. People who cannot walk this distance will not be able to access the church and must indicate this when booking.
- Entrance to the church is not included. If the church is available, those wishing to enter will have about 30 minutes to visit it. The entrance fee is paid on site.
