Funicular to Mount Floyen and a walking tour in the heart of Bergen

Upon arrival at the port, our guide, identified by the Shore2Shore sign, will be waiting to start an exciting walking tour through the heart of the capital of the Norwegian fjords.

Bergen, a city where history and modernity blend with the charm of wooden houses, is the ideal place to explore on foot. During this tour, we will visit the most emblematic and picturesque areas of the city center.

We will begin with a visit to Bergenhus, an ancient fortress that was once the residence of Norwegian kings. We will continue to the Church of St. Mary, one of the oldest buildings in the city, and then head to the famous fish market, where local aromas and flavors invite us to discover its rich gastronomy.

We will venture into the historic alleys of Bryggen, the old Hanseatic quarter declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This pier with its characteristic wooden houses stands as a testament to the important role the Hanseatic League played in Bergen, being the only Hanseatic office preserved outside Germany.

We will continue our walk along Torgallmenningen, the main pedestrian street, full of life and activity. From here, we will pass two of the city’s highlights: the Bergen Theatre, a symbol of the resurgence of the Norwegian language, and Festplassen, the main square where numerous events and festivals are held.

We will conclude this first part of the tour at the fish market, where you can enjoy, if you wish, a tasting of local products (not included in the excursion price).

Adventure on Mount Floyen
Our excursion will continue with a ride on the famous Mount Floyen funicular, which will take us to an altitude of 325 meters above sea level. From the summit, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Bergen, its colorful houses, and the impressive natural surroundings. We will have free time to admire the landscape, take photographs, or simply relax at this panoramic spot.

At the end of the visit, we will return together to the port to say goodbye.
