Discovering Oslo, the capital of Norway

Shore excursion from port of Oslo, Norway

  • Duration 3h
  • Activity level low

What you'll do

Our Shore2Shore Excursions guide will meet you at the Port of Oslo where we board an air-conditioned coach to take a guided tour of Oslo.

Oslo, the capital of Norway, situated in the heart of Scandinavia, is one of the oldest in this region and the only one with an urban settlement dating back to the age of the Vikings. The town is beautifully located between the Oslo Fjord and the green wooded hills.

The art and architecture are of great interest in Oslo. There is a great exhibition of visual arts of Edvard Munch at the Munch Museum and National Gallery. The Vigeland sculpture park, with its 212 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland is worth visiting. Another masterpiece is the large mural on the Government Building, designed by Pablo Picasso and implemented by Carl Nesjar.

We will take a panoramic tour through the main streets and squares of Oslo: City Hall, Parliament, the National Theatre and the Royal Residence.

If time allows, we will enjoy free time in the City Hall area to buy some typical souvenirs.

We will then return to the Port of Oslo so we can re-join our ship for onward passage to our next port of call.
