Discover Western Norway: Beaches, Viewpoints, and Lighthouses on a Unique Journey
Shore excursion from port of Maloy, Norway
- Duration 6h
- Activity level medium
What you'll do
We will meet at the Måløy port with our guide, who will be holding a Shore2Shore sign. We will begin our excursion with a panoramic tour of the charming town of Måløy, before heading to the picturesque Selje Beach.
On Norway’s west coast, Selje stands out for its serene beauty. Seljesanden Beach, famous for its calm waters, is a peaceful haven considered one of the quietest spots on the planet. We will have free time to explore the town and, if you wish, to grab a drink or a snack before continuing.
Our journey will take us to the impressive Vestkapp (West Cape) viewpoint. Along the way, we will make stops at lookouts and panoramic points to enjoy the Norwegian scenery and breathe in the region’s fresh air. Vestkapp, the westernmost point of mainland Norway, rises 496 meters above sea level, offering spectacular views of the Sunnmøre Alps, the Ålfotbreen glacier, and the wild Stadhavet Sea. At the viewpoint, we can take a break and, if you like, enjoy a drink or snack at the café (subject to availability).
We will then continue our route toward the historic Kråkenes Lighthouse, located about 30 minutes away, following the fjord coast. Along the way, we will stop at ideal spots to capture unforgettable photos.
Built in 1906, Kråkenes Lighthouse is situated in a strategic location to monitor the dangerous coast of Stadtlandet, known for its rough seas. Although the original lighthouse was destroyed by a fire after an air raid in 1945, the current lighthouse houses a restaurant and accommodations where guests can stay.
After this unforgettable experience, we will return to Måløy port to end the excursion.
We look forward to seeing you soon to share this wonderful adventure together!
