Welcome aboard! Upon arrival at your port, our Shore2Shore guide will warmly welcome you, identified with the corresponding sign.
Today we will explore Tromsø, a fascinating Norwegian city located on the island of Tromsøya, 350 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. Known as one of the best places in the world to witness the Northern Lights, Tromsø is also famous for its rich offering of art, history, gastronomy, lively nightlife, and its vast forests.
We will start with a panoramic tour of the city, where you will enjoy stunning views of the snowy landscape. Our first stop will be the iconic Arctic Cathedral, also known as the Tromsdalen Church, built in 1965. Although it is not a cathedral in ecclesiastical terms, its popularity and architecture have made it known by this name. This concrete and steel church, reminiscent of the Sydney Opera House, is one of Tromsø’s most visited landmarks, admired for its beauty and the peace it conveys.
Next, we will head to the fascinating Polaria Center, where you can enjoy a unique polar experience. Here, you can watch an interesting presentation about life in the Arctic, stroll through its interactive exhibits, or admire the marine life of the polar regions in its aquariums.
Finally, we will return to the port for boarding, concluding this incredible excursion.
