Trollstigen road

Shore excursion from port of Alesund, Norway

  • Duration 7h
  • Activity level medium

What you'll do

Our guide will meet you at the port of Alesund with a Shore2Shore sign.

Alesund is the largest city on the northwest coast of Norway, located in an enviable enclave, enjoying dreamlike landscapes and unique architecture.

A large part of Alesund was destroyed by fire in 1904 and built again in ART NOUVEAU style, typical art of the first decade of the twentieth century.

We will go in the direction of Norddalsfjord to the fertile fairy valley of Valldal, known for its production of strawberries, where we will enjoy its spectacular views and, after passing through a mountain of perpetual snow, we reach the Trollstigen at 850 meters above sea level.

Stop at the top to take pictures and have a drink in the cafeteria (any supplements are not included in the excursion price).

We continue our descent down the winding Trollstigen road or troll staircase, a spectacular mountain road considered the masterpiece of Norwegian engineering that exceeds almost 800 meters of altitude.

Stop at the impressive Stigefossen waterfall and Trollwall on the highest and steepest wall in Europe with its 1000 meters high.

Then we will go through Romsdalsfjord back to Alesund enjoying the scenic surroundings with its natural wonders and picturesque villages.

Return to the port of Alesund.
