What you'll do

Upon your cruise ship's arrival, you will be picked up by our guide/coordinator at the port, identified with the Shore2Shore sign.

Our excursion begins in Kristiansund, the capital of Nordmøre. Known as the city of dried cod, it spans three interconnected islands and serves as the base for offshore activities along the central Norwegian coast.

After a brief city tour, we continue to the island of Averøy via the Atlantic Ocean Tunnel, an underwater tunnel approximately 6 km long and 250 meters below sea level. The island of Averøy is well known across Norway for its archaeological history and its connection to the Viking king Harald Hårfagre, who visited the area many times.

As we head toward the Atlantic Ocean Road, keep an eye out for seals, seabirds, and, if you're lucky, whales. This scenic stretch, one of Norway's National Tourist Routes, links islands and reefs while winding from the island of Averøy to the mainland. The Atlantic Ocean Road zigzags over bridges from island to island, right on the ocean's edge. Covering 8.2 kilometers, it crosses a total of eight bridges and traverses stunning coastal scenery. It is one of Norway's most visited tourist destinations and won the "Engineering Feat of the Century" award in 2005.

We’ll continue past Farstadsanden Beach and along the coast to the charming fishing village of Bud, where we’ll stop to take photos with views of the ocean and the Bjørnsund Islands.

On our way back to Kristiansund, we’ll follow the Frænafjord and Kornstadfjord fjords, traveling through beautiful hills around another charming natural inlet and passing through the villages of Elnesvågen and Eide. To return to Kristiansund, we’ll use the Krifast road connection, which links Kristiansund and Frei to the mainland. Opened in August 1992, Krifast includes an underwater tunnel, a floating bridge, and a suspension bridge.

Return to the port.
