The Atlantic Ocean Road
Shore excursion from port of Molde, Norway
- Duration 3h
- Activity level low
What you'll do
Upon arrival of your cruise, our Shore2Shore guide or coordinator will welcome you at the port, identified with a sign, to begin this fascinating excursion.
Like a sea serpent connecting the horizon, the Atlantic Ocean Road links islands for more than 8 kilometers, defying winds and waves. This magnificent engineering feat, which connects the municipalities of Averøy and Eide, took more than six years to complete. Its route consists of eight bridges that connect small islets, making it one of the most iconic roads in the world.
We will start the journey passing through charming coastal landscapes, enjoying the spectacular route across the bridges that connect the islands between Molde and Averøy, where we will learn about its fascinating engineering and local life along the coast.
We will make a stop at the Eldhusøya viewpoint, where we will have time for a walk along the circular trail. A perfect moment to take photos or have a short break (café and restroom available).
Before returning to the port, we will pass by the Varden Viewpoint, about 400 meters above the town, where we can admire wonderful views of the mountains and the fjord.
We hope this experience has left you with unforgettable memories of the Norwegian Atlantic coast.
Thank you for choosing Shore2Shore!
