What you'll do

Welcome to your excursion! Upon your arrival at the Port of Kotor, our Shore2Shore guide will be waiting for you to begin this journey through the heart of one of the most fascinating cities in the Mediterranean.

The Old Town of Kotor developed within a small triangular area, surrounded by impressive 5 km-long walls built by the Venetians. This fortification system, which began in 1420 and was completed in the 18th century, withstood attacks for centuries and protected the city from long sieges. During our guided tour, you will discover the history of these walls and explore the charming palaces hidden within their confines.

A key stop will be the Cathedral of St. Tryphon, one of the oldest churches in Europe, whose construction dates back to 1166 over a 9th-century church. Here, you can admire the relics of Kotor's patron saint, St. Tryphon, including his head, which arrived in the city in 890. You will also see 58 other relics, including an alleged splinter of the Holy Cross.

Next, we will head to the Maritime Museum, located in the elegant Grgurin Palace, a Baroque building from 1732. Inside, you will discover a valuable collection of objects related to seafaring, such as portraits of famous captains, ship models, navigation instruments, and a series of maps that tell the maritime history of Kotor.

At the end of the guided tour, you may return to the port with our guide or continue exploring the city at your own pace.

We hope you enjoy this fascinating immersion into Kotor’s history!
