What you'll do
Upon the arrival of your cruise, our guide will be waiting for you at the port of Riga, identified by the Shore2Shore sign, to accompany you on a tour of this city, a true architectural museum spanning from the Gothic period to Classicism.
We will begin by exploring the famous Art Nouveau district, the true treasure of Riga and home to the largest and best-preserved collection of buildings in this style in the world. This walk will allow us to admire decorative facades and unique architectural details that have made the city the world capital of Art Nouveau.
We will continue to the historic center of Riga, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. During our 30 to 40-minute tour, we will visit iconic places such as Dom Square and the St. Dom Cathedral, which houses one of the most valuable historic organs in the world. We will also enter the St. Jacobs Church.
We will approach the imposing Riga Castle, located on the banks of the Daugava River. Built in 1330, the castle is today the official residence of the President of Latvia and houses the Latvian History Museum and the Foreign Art Museum.
During our walk, we will admire the Riga fortification wall, the Swedish Gate, the Parliament building, the Freedom Monument, the fascinating House of the Blackheads, the Powder Tower, and the city wall, transporting us to the medieval atmosphere that defines Riga.
At the end of this experience full of art, history, and culture, we will return to the port to say goodbye.
Thank you for choosing Shore2Shore to explore the charms of Riga!
