Pompeii ruins is a unique place that you can visit with this excursion for all cruises from the port of Salerno.

At the port, our team awaits to welcome you to this tour and take the bus trip to the Roman city buried by the lava of the Vesuvius volcano.

At the bottom of Mount Vesuvius, we find the Pompeii archaeological site. We start the tour at Porta Marina, the door to the economic and political center of the city.

The guide will lead us along the entire walking tour and will evoke the history and experience of a typical day of antiquity.

Pompeii is a magnificent example of life in AD 79. Precisely this year, on August 24, the earth shook and Vesuvius unleashed all its wrath on the area after 1,800 years of inactivity.

In our tour of the enclosure, we will find houses, temples, and villas with mosaic floors and frescoes on the walls, we will be able to see what the luxury mansions and the fabulous art of the rich aristocrats were who came to Pompeii to escape the crisis in Rome. The houses were designed around an interior garden, with few windows to the outside. We will visit one of the most modest houses and also explore the old baths, temples, theaters and markets.

The city of Pompeii was buried by lava and the ashes of the volcano Vesuvius still remain, although archaeological excavations that began in the seventeenth century have resulted in the recovery of countless priceless remains.

Pompeii has a lot to offer, almost 2,000 year old streets, rich history, and the feeling of traveling for a few hours into the past.

At the end of the excursion in Pompeii, we will return to the port of Salerno by bus for the embarkation of the cruise passengers and the farewell.
