Visit Pisa

Upon arrival of your cruise, our assistant will be waiting for you, identified with a sign.

We begin our tour by the wall of the old city and religious center, the Miracles Square (Piazza dei Miracoli), a Unesco heritage and renowned as one of the main centers of medieval art in the world. We will contemplate the famous monumental complex; the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (the Duomo), the Baptistery of San Giovanni Baptista, the Monumental Cemetery, the Bell Tower and the famous Leaning Tower. We will then continue our walk until we reach Via Santa Maria, an old artery that connected the Miracles Plaza with the Arno River, from where we can see the Hospital for Orphans, the Ferdinandeo School, the Church of San Giorgio ai Tedeschi and Dei Mile Street where the Church of San Sisto in Corte Vecchia is located.

Passing San Frediano street, we will see the old Romanesque Church and the old bell tower from where it is said to be the origin of university classes. The Sapienza Palace, built on the initiative of Lorenzo il Magnifico and Piazza Dante.

Bordering the Arno River, we find the Church of Santa María della Spina, the Palazzo Agostini Venerosi della Seta, the Palazzo Blu and the Church of Santa Cristina, built in the 16th century. We will then continue our walk through Piazza Garibaldi until we reach the dei Lungarni Theater. From there, we will walk through the narrow streets of Borgo Stretto, until we reach Plaza San Felice from where we will be able to contemplate the capitals that represent images of the battles from the Hellenistic era. We will then continue to Piazza dei Cavalieri di Santo Stefano with his Church and the Gualandi Tower where the famous Count Ugolino, one of the protagonists of Dante's Divine Comedy, died of hunger.

We will finish our tour going through the Arco de Gualandi and the Piazza Arcivescovado until we reach the Piazza dei Miracoli again where we will enjoy some free time to walk around.

At the end of the excursion, we return to the port for farewell.
