What you'll do
Our Shore2Shore team will meet you at the port of Civitavecchia.
We will leave the port by coach to reach Rome with an approximate journey of an hour and a half passing through the "Campina", north of Rome.
Our guide will meet you at the Vatican to discover the many beauties of the eternal city, EXTERIOR visit of St Peter's Square without entrance to the Basilica.
During the tour we will see the famous Caius Cestius Pyramid (Pyramid Cestia) from the 1st century BC. incorporated in successive centuries to the fortified wall of Emperor Aureliano; Massimo Circus known for chariot racing and the movie Ben Hur; the Santa Maria in Cosmedin Church (without stop); the Marcello Theater finished under Otaviano Augusto and the Capitol Square, transformed by the genius of Michelangelo into the first modern square in Rome and now the town hall.
Admire the Piazza Venezia, urban center of the city that houses the majestic monument, known as Victoriano or Altar de la Patria, originally held to celebrate the unification of the nation and then dedicated to the fallen in wars; we will also contemplate the Traiano Emperor Column. If time allows us, we will see the wonderful Via Dei Fori Imperiali with the remains of Rome's glorious past.

Back to the coach again to reach the Trevi Fountain. A walk will permit us to discover the baroque heart of the city, starting with the Piazza Di Spagna (IF TIME ALLOWS US AND BY DECISION OF THE GUIDE) and its famous Trinidad dei Monti staircase as well as Barcaccia fountain built in 1629 .
Continuation Via Condotti, famous for its brand shops. Crossing Via del Corso, we will reach the Trevi Square and its source of desires before going to the Pantheon for an exterior visit and photos, the best preserved of Rome ancient monuments.
Our journey will then take us Piazza Navona, the most imposing of the 15th century squares. From here, walk on foot to return to the bus and Civitavecchia after a day suspended in time between Empire and Papacy, between Christians and pagans in the most "beautiful city in the world".

- DURATION: since this excursion is exclusively for cruise passengers, the schedule varies depending on the ship’s timetable and length of stay in port, as well as the availability of assistance, guide, and transportation. The tour in Rome for cruise passengers usually lasts between 8 and 10 hours.

- As of January 1, 2019, a new traffic law has come into force in ROME, which means that some traffic accesses and parking areas may be affected. The full itinerary of the tour in Rome will be done on foot and is of long duration. This affects the excursion, as some walking distances are quite long. For this reason, the tour has a medium level of difficulty and is not suitable for passengers who have difficulty walking, for those traveling in wheelchairs, or even for those traveling with very young children.
- It is mandatory to wear appropriate clothing in the places of worship that will be visited.
- Comfortable footwear is recommended.
