Pompeii: a journey through time with virtual reality

Upon arrival at the port, our guide will welcome you holding a Shore2Shore sign, and together we will embark on a unique journey through time.

Thanks to Virtual Reality, you will be able to relive everyday life in Pompeii before the fateful eruption of 79 AD, exploring its streets, buildings, and customs with an astonishing level of detail.

We begin our tour at the Quadriporticus, an imposing colonnaded courtyard that was originally a meeting place and later a training school for gladiators. From there, we will head to the Large Theater, where you can experience the excitement of a theatrical performance just like in ancient Rome, on a stage that still retains its grandeur.

Our walk takes us to the lavish residences of Pompeii’s elite, starting with the House of Menander, an elegant example of Roman architecture, with frescoes and refined details. Then, we will visit the House of the Faun, one of the most luxurious in the city, famous for its stunning mosaics and grand structure.

Continuing our immersion in Pompeii’s daily life, we will stop at the bakery and mills, where we will discover how bread, an essential food of the time, was made. Later, we will explore the Stabian Baths, one of the oldest thermal complexes, touring various rooms such as the entrance and the tepidarium, while learning about the importance of bathing in Roman society.

The visit will take us to an intriguing aspect of the city: Pompeii’s nightlife. At the Lupanar, the most famous brothel of the era, we will explore its interior and exterior, learning about the details of this unique establishment. This stop is for cultural and educational purposes, focusing on the daily life and customs of the ancient Roman Empire.

From there, we will proceed to the heart of the city, the Forum, where the most important temples and administrative buildings were located.

We will conclude our experience at the Basilica, an imposing building that once served as a center of justice and commerce. Through Virtual Reality, you will be able to admire its original structure and understand its significance in the public life of ancient Pompeii.

After this fascinating immersion into the past, we will return to the port for the farewell.
