Alberobello The Charm of the Trulli
Shore excursion from port of Bari or Taranto, Italy
- Duration 5h
- Activity level medium
What you'll do
Discover the magic of Alberobello, a picturesque corner in the province of Bari famous for its iconic white stone houses with conical roofs, the charming “Trulli”, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
From the Bari pier, accompanied by an expert local guide who will be waiting for you holding a SHORE2SHORE sign, we will cross the city and the peaceful Apulian countryside heading to this fascinating destination. The trulli, originally temporary shelters and stables, have now been transformed into cozy homes where residents combine their daily lives with commercial activities.
During our visit, we will explore the most emblematic areas, such as Rione Monti and Aia Piccola, where you can discover the oldest trulli, enjoy local hospitality, taste the delicious regional cuisine, and learn about the rich craftsmanship of Alberobello. Don’t miss the impressive Trullo Sovrano, unique in its kind with two floors, built over 200 years ago.
The excursion will also take us to the Church of Saint Anthony, a unique building whose trullo-shaped dome blends the Romanesque style of Apulia with the traditional trulli architecture.
This complete experience, lasting approximately five and a half hours, includes free time to stroll through the charming streets of the village before comfortably returning to the port.
Get ready to discover a unique gem in Italy that combines history, culture, and beauty in every corner!
