What you'll do

Upon disembarking in Grundarfjörður, our guide will welcome you with a SHORE2SHORE sign to begin an unforgettable journey through the spectacular Snæfellsnes Peninsula, a land of contrasts where nature reveals its wildest and most awe-inspiring side. Along the western coast of Iceland, we will discover iconic mountains, volcanic beaches, majestic cliffs, and picturesque fishing villages.

Our first destination will be the majestic Mount Kirkjufell, known as "Iceland's most photographed mountain." Its perfectly shaped silhouette, along with the Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall cascading elegantly at its base, offers one of the most iconic postcard views in the country.

We will then continue to Arnarstapi, a charming coastal village where we can admire the impressive basalt cliffs, sculpted by nature over centuries. Here, our guide will share stories of Icelandic legends as we take in unforgettable views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Our final stop will take us to the enigmatic black beach of Djúpalónssandur, a landscape from another era where the sand has been replaced by small volcanic pebbles. Surrounded by lava formations, this beach is steeped in history, with remnants of ancient shipwrecks and the legendary lifting stones once used by Icelandic sailors to test their strength. For those with reduced mobility, there is a viewpoint from which the beauty of this place can be appreciated without navigating the more challenging trails.

After a day exploring these dreamlike landscapes, we will return to Grundarfjordur, carrying with us unforgettable memories of this land of magic and mystery.

At the end of the excursion, return to the port and farewell.
