What you'll do

Welcome to the Westfjords.

Pickup at the port by our guide, clearly identified with a Shore2Shore sign. Isafjordur offers many interesting options for a relaxed and memorable day in the Westfjords.

The highlight of our excursion today is the majestic beauty of the Dynjandi waterfall, one of the most beautiful in Iceland and an icon of the Westfjords.

On the way to Dynjandi, we will pass through some of Iceland's most beautiful fjords and charming fishing villages.

Önundarfjörður, geologically considered the oldest part of Iceland, boasts a unique golden beach and a dune system that serves as a protected nesting site for the eider duck.

Dýrafjörður is rich in flora, fauna, history, and geological wonders. It also hosts the tallest mountains in the Westfjords.

We will take the new tunnel at the base of Dýrafjörður. Before the tunnel opened in the fall of 2020, the only connection between the northern and southern Westfjords was a treacherous mountain pass accessible only in summer.

Dynjandi is located at the end of the Dynjandisvogur inlet, in Arnarfjörður, one of Iceland's longest fjords, stretching 30 km.

Technically a series of seven waterfalls cascading like a bridal veil from the edge of a cliff, Dynjandi is sure to leave you breathless. The river originates from Lake Eyjavatn, in the highlands of Gláma, considered a glacier until the late 19th century. We will stop for an hour to enjoy the waterfall and the stunning landscape. You can take a short walk to admire the highest cascade up close and take in the views of the fjord and surrounding mountains.

At the end of the excursion, we will return to the port for farewell.
