Visit Oia and Fira

Our Shore2Shore Excursions guide will meet you at the old port of Fira. We will board a boat to get to the commercial port of Athinios where an air-conditioned coach waits the group for a guided tour of Santorini. 

Oia is a picturesque village perched high atop Santorini’s northern terminus known for its beauty and spectacular sunsets among the rough cliffs and the open sea.

Below there is the beach of Ammoudi, accessible only on foot. We will discover the typical architecture of Santorini with the whitewashed houses under blue domes and sunny terraces. Oia is housing a cultural centre and numerous art galleries. In addition a number of shops sell local handicrafts, such as jewelry and other souvenirs.

After Oia we will continue to Fira, the capital village of the island. After the earthquake of 1956 a part of the city was destroyed (only very few of the buildings of the 12th century were saved).

The city is built on the edge of the 400 metres (1,312 feet) high caldera on the western edge of the semi-circular island of Theraand it offers a magnificent panoramic view.

Free time before returning to the Port of Santorini.

USE OF THIS BOAT IS ONE WAY ONLY; THE RETURN WILL BE ON YOUR OWN, AT THE CLIENT’S EXPENSE.

You can make your way back on your own using any of the following means:

• Funicular: (€10.00 per passenger to be paid on site, €5 for children under 12 years). Approximate journey time is 5 minutes. New 2025 prices from 19/05.
• Donkey: (€10.00 per passenger to be paid on site). Approximate journey time is 20 minutes.
• Stairs: not recommended for elderly people or those with mobility difficulties. Approximate walking time is 30 minutes.

• It is advisable to wear comfortable footwear.
• This excursion is NOT SUITABLE for people with reduced mobility, people who require the use of a wheelchair, or those travelling with baby strollers, due to the uneven terrain. The transport used for this tour is not adapted.
