Nice and Eze, alternative tour for F1 days from port of Cannes

Upon arrival of your cruise, your guide will be waiting for you at the port, identified with the Shore2Shore sign.

We will leave the port of Cannes and head towards Nice via the highway. The city of Nice is a natural amphitheatre overlooking the Bay of Angels, Baie des Anges in French.

We will leave the coach in the “coulée verte” area, the green lung of Nice, and continue our tour on foot to discover the heart of the city.

Strolling through the Albert I Gardens, we will reach Massena Square, the main square with its red facades and blue windows. Built following the model of Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Turin and transformed several times over the years, Massena Square is now the centre of social life in Nice, a lively square that hosts the large seven-metre-high statue of Apollo. In addition, opaque statues of kneeling men representing the seven continents are placed around the square, giving it a modern touch.

We will pass by the Courthouse, built in a neoclassical style at the end of the 19th century, the Opera House and the Cathedral of Sainte Réparate, patron saint of the city, until we reach the Cours Saleya, a street full of small shops and restaurants where the flower and early-produce market takes place. Entry to the market is free, and we can stroll among the Provençal stalls, the typical local products, and above all admire different types of plants and flowers. The market is closed on Mondays.

We will return to the coach parking area through the lively typical streets of the old town and, via a scenic road offering a beautiful view of the Bay of Angels and the wonderful Bay of Villefranche, we will reach the village of Eze, a beautiful medieval village overlooking the sea and the coastline.

A double fortified gate from the 14th century allows us to enter the historic centre of Eze, and from this moment we are transported back in time: we will wander through its narrow cobblestone streets and picturesque lanes, home to charming cafés, beautiful art galleries and former noble houses. Here we can see the ruins of a medieval castle destroyed during an attack by the troops of Louis XIV, and from this point we will enjoy spectacular views of the sea and the mountains. Outside the walls, we will visit the historic French perfume factory Fragonard to discover the secrets behind the production of the finest perfumes, soaps and natural cosmetics of the region.

You will have free time before returning to the port of Cannes for embarkation.

• This excursion is NOT SUITABLE for people with reduced mobility, those who require the use of a wheelchair, scooters, baby strollers, or pushchairs, due to uneven terrain, cobblestone streets, narrow areas and/or crowded places. The transportation used for this tour is not adapted.

• The itinerary may be modified at any time and without prior notice due to local and/or operational circumstances.

• If, due to unforeseen circumstances, Shore2Shore provides a replacement service, there will be no change in the price compared to the originally contracted service. Therefore, no full or partial refund of the amount paid will be offered.

PLEASE note that the cruise ship will not dock at the port, it will anchor outside of the port.

An assisting ferry will be used to take passengers from cruise to land and back. This assisting ferries have a 60-80 passenger capacity. One assisting ferry leaves every 10-15 minutes and takes about 25 minutes to dock at port.

PLEASE try to get to the port as soon as possible to avoid tour delays, we recommend to coordinate ahead of time with onboard cruise line personnel to guarantee space on first ferry.

Our guide will be waiting for you outside of the port terminal in the PARKING QUAI LAUBEUF identified with a sign.

Please do not attempt to find the bus by yourself, just wait at the meeting location. Please locate our personnel and they will guide you to the bus.

Punctuality is very much appreciated since port police only allows a 30-minutes window to pick up passengers at the parking location.
