GRAND TOUR OF LANZAROTE
Shore excursion from port of Arrecife, España - Océano Atlántico
- Duration 8h
- Activity level medium
What you'll do
At the arrival of your cruise, our guide will welcome you at the port of Arrecife holding the Shore2Shore sign to begin a complete tour of Lanzarote’s natural, artistic, and cultural contrasts.
We will start with a panoramic stop at the Salt Pans of Janubio, before visiting the volcanic area of El Golfo, where we will admire from a viewpoint the famous Green Lake (Charco de los Clicos), a spectacular natural lagoon formed inside an ancient crater.
We will then head towards the Timanfaya National Park and make a stop at the Camel Station, where those who wish can enjoy an optional camel ride along the slopes of Timanfaya (activity not included).
Next, we will visit the impressive Timanfaya National Park, with its geothermal demonstrations and the Route of the Volcanoes, a bus circuit through craters, lava fields, and lunar landscapes.
The route will continue through La Geria, a protected wine-growing area where we will discover its unique cultivation system on volcanic ash. We will make a short stop with the option to visit a local winery and taste Malvasía grape wines.
On the way north, we will see from the bus the Monument to the Farmer, an emblematic work by César Manrique in homage to Lanzarote’s farmers and a symbol of the island’s rural tradition.
In the afternoon, we will head to the north of the island, with a panoramic stop in Haría, the well-known “Valley of the Thousand Palm Trees,” before reaching the spectacular Mirador del Río, from where you can admire the island of La Graciosa and the Chinijo Archipelago. For groups not wishing to purchase the entrance to Mirador del Río, we will make a panoramic stop at the Mirador de los Helechos, also located in Haría.
From there, we will continue our route passing by the imposing Volcán de la Corona and the Malpaís de la Corona, a volcanic landscape of great natural and geological value, origin of the great volcanic tube that houses the following sites.
We will end our day with a visit to Los Jameos del Agua, a natural and artistic masterpiece created by César Manrique inside this same volcanic tube.
On the way back to the port, we will pass through the areas of Mala and Guatiza, admiring from the bus the cactus plantations used for the traditional production of cochineal, a natural dye.
IMPORTANT: Entrance to Los Jameos del Agua is not suitable for people with reduced mobility or wheelchairs due to stairs and uneven floors.
IMPORTANT NOTE: THE ORDER OF THE VISITS MAY VARY WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE DUE TO POSSIBLE CIRCUMSTANCES (SHIP ARRIVAL TIME, OPENING HOURS OF SITES TO VISIT, ETC.).
